It's been a great season. Thank you all for buying local, especially those who contributed to the "upcycled" work and are helping keep good materials out of our landfills! Let's all have smaller carbon footprints in 2012!

GREAT weekend, thanks to the Women Speak Out for Peace & Justice Bazaar. As always, yummy food, good people and, thankfully, lots of buyers. Thank you all.
So now, it's make MORE MORE MORE!!!! Triple inventory: some for Collective Upcycle, some for the Arts Collinwood Holiday Sale, some for the Trinity Art Fair. Low on almost everything, and just started making new birch bark satchels, because the Arts Collinwood people and the Trinity people seem to like the birch bark stuff. Hope my hands hold up! (and it's also the last week to finish my bronze goddesses piece before they tear down the building. More no sleep! ... but it's way better than being bored or spending my life watching tv!) Been getting emails about dropping off work soon. Problem is, I can't send the pics until the work is finished! This past week turned some ornaments from wood of Xmas trees past, and today or tomorrow will cut and stencil the upcycled frosted bottle glass and sandblast them later in the week. Once again, busy busy busy!
Holiday schedule is shaping up. Still don't have an address for Collective Upcycle, but I'll post it soon! Just added an Arts Festival in October at Pilgrim Church in Tremont. Meanwhile, today I finished welding a steel pyramid to house a piece of riverbottom stone for a piece I'm calling "Out of the Primordial Ooze." Also began work on the bicycle wheel & cable spool wood rocking chair. Ooooh it's so good now that the weather has cooled off!
wow. Ursuline College's Religious/Spiritual Art Show went really well for me. Both pieces sold, and the joss paper one won an award! Am seriously rethinking how I'm using my time and how I might work smarter and not spend time sitting around at slow art outings waiting for people to buy the work. I realize there are those of you out there that would like to be able to see my work out there every week, but when you consider the pack up, set up, tear down and unpack time, that's a lot of hours and days that could be put to better use. We hoping Collective Upcycle will pop back up again for a winter session!
Wickedly busy, that is. Since we missed our usual inventory-building time thanks to the bout with shingles, we are now madly making up for the lost time. 40 pair of gemstone earrings in 2 days! Now madly making bike chain earrings, bracelets and necklaces. The new latched bracelets did very well last week at Collective Upcycle, and I resupplied the inventory on Thursday. With Father's Day coming up, I imagine sales will be brisk!
Also just confirmed I'll be showing bike part at the Coventry Street Fair next weekend on Sunday, as part of the Cleveland Heights Bicycle Coalition. That's in addition to the Waterloo Arts Festival on Saturday! ooooh, need DOUBLE inventory! Hurray hurrah! All the castings turned out well! Pics will be posted soon/eventually. Delivering to Walleye Gallery & Crafty Goodness this weekend. Busy busy, Then Roxboro School Art Fair next week, the 21st. Inventory is down, so these fingers will be flying!
Hot forged 2 bike gear cuff bracelets so far this week and finished up the molds for bronze and aluminum casting. Hope to finish glass casting molds later this week. Gotta get crackin! Art Fair season is upon us soon!
Not quite 100% yet, but getting there, and it's a good thing, too! Exhibit at Walleye coming up next month, as well as Roxboro Arts Fair, and then the full out Waterloo Arts Festival in June. Inventory is low, so I've got to get pumping! Meanwhile, we pour bronze in 10 days, and I haven't even finished my waxes yet!
Finally got the health issues more or less under control and have a piece in the CSU Student Show, the Doubting Thomas Sculpture Show, and will be drawing at the Spaces Monster Drawing Rally tonite. Delivered more stuff to Local Girl and for last month's grand opening of Crafty Goodness. Geez, it's been busy trying to make up for all that time lost to unwellness!
