Ok, so things got really complicated due to Covid. Cancellations. Listing everything online. Last minute shows. Out of town shows. Last year I showed a print at the Awagami Factory Miniprint Show in Japan and two handmade books at the Rochester Art of the Book Show in New York. As well as at a half dozen or so other galleries in northeast Ohio AND another installation at Rooms to Let in Slavic Village. Life got complicated, what with needing work done on the house on top of that. And slowing down in our dotage .... So apologies for not keeping up the blog, but thank you for continuing to follow us. We're planning on submitting works far and wide in 2024, so keep checking the where to see our work page for updates!
So far we are well
Social distancing, sheltering at home and masking when out. Have not done any shows yet this year, but maybe Labor Day weekend at the Coit Farmers Market, since it's open air. Missed my chance to do the Kamm's Farmers Market - didn't think they were going to run in this year. My bad. Thankfully, people have been ordering a lot online while they are sheltering at home. Look for items from jhosnet on amazon.com, etsy.com and mercari.com. My etsy store is at https://www.etsy.com/shop/jhosnet. Amazon will not let you search by seller, but mercari will show you my other items if you click on anything I've listed. So try this one of bronze star earrings, then scroll down to see what else I'm offering.
Mercari has no parameters, so I've listed other art I've collected, plus whatever is lying around the studio that I'm not using anymore. VERY miscellaneous! It's like a garage sale on line! Hope you find something you like!
Firstly, we applied to install at ROOMS TO LET in Slavic Village. Weeks later: We are proud to announce you have been selected to participate as an artist in this year’s Rooms To Let: CLE! So we installed the SUN LABYRINTH in a vacant lot on E. 54th!
And about the same time, we answered a call for art with the City of Willoughby. My DRAGONFLIES IN THE SKY was one of the ones selected for the utility boxes on Public Square!
Then on Friday, less than 2 weeks ago, I read in Nan Kennedy’s Neighborhood Notes, that Waterloo Arts was looking for parking space installations as part of this year’s Art Fest. Deadline was Monday. Oh well hey. I can come up with something in 4 days, right? Squeeked in Monday afternoon. Acceptance confirmation arrived shortly thereafter. Oh. Better get busy. Fest is Saturday! Had great fun watching young and old (er) enjoy the HOPSCOTCH PLAYGROUND and … took the BEST OF THE FEST award! woohoo!
2019 has already been super busy! Photo show in Oberlin, then today, I was accepted to do Rooms to Let in Slavic Village next month. Yes, the proposals take a long time and I don't always get in, but now I'm excited to build that sun labyrinth for walking in the sunshine! Will post photos on the for the spirit page once it's done!
Sorry I got so behind in my blogging ... the Sticks and Stones show went incredibly well! You can click on the sticks and stones button to the bottom left to see what I put up. Thank you all who came out to see the show and a special shout out to my patrons! I'm so encouraged by your support! Now I'm playing Santa's elf and preparing for the Holiday shows .... click on where to see our work to the left to see where I'll be showing my wares. If it looks a little lean today, keep checking back -- I'm still waiting to hear from some venues and will post when I find out. Cheers!
WOW! Got invited to do a show, STICKS AND STONES, next May at Heights Arts! Will be making new work along the lines of the spirit shield on the "for the spirit" page, but not necessarily all spirit shields. LOTS of ideas dancing thru my head now ... will let the ideas settle a bit before I start work ... stay posted!
