Even MORE snow! The wet heavy stuff, the omg my back is not liking this stuff. Exhausted, I did not blow or do ANY hot shop work yesterday. The waxes were fighting me, and I guess I was tired, because as I was packing up, I dropped them, and the brittle wax cracked, so I'll have to redo. Aaaaargggghhhh!

Ok, I've cleared a path to the car and mailbox. Phew! is that ever hard on those old back bones!
So now I came in and posted another windchime on http://www.etsy.com/shop/jhosnet Then I'm off to work on waxes and molds for glass casting and maybe get in a little hotshop work as well. Not sure if I'll blow, or just do benchwork ... By the way, I saw the new Independent Student Exhibition at CIA last night, and it's pretty awesome this year. Not the same old same old ... Congratulations to all the awardees - you deserve it! Phew! Finally photographed some things and got a few things up on http://www.etsy.com/shop/jhosnet. Don't know wny it takes soooo long! Guess I just don't have such an organized way of thinking. Not to mention the point and shoot camera doesn't always yield the best results! But now, at least the chrome windchimes and custom stretchy copper rings for arthritic fingers are up. Don't know if any other arthritis types are out there surfing etsy, but I know those rings were godsends for me, so maybe they'll help someone else, too.
I'm really trying to get this site up to date with what I've done, but there are literally THOUSANDS of images to go through, and some of them don't want to upload, for whatever reason. It takes me hours to figure these things out.
Meanwhile, I've been volunteering at Ohio City Bike Coop and am using unusable bike parts for new work. I have a lot more windchimes and jewelry to post, just haven't got to yet. ... and then there's glass class down in Kent. Nothing to post yet - just making molds, mostly. Nothing's finished. Trying to blow on the weekends, but I lost some skill over the past year, so I'd rather not post those ugly vases.... and sometimes it's hard to find the time, while trying to keep up with the mold-making assignments! Trying to post new stuff on etsy.com at least once a week. Right now, it's mostly bicycle parts stuff. (Soon to include some prints and/or twig jewelry.) Check it out! http://www.etsy.com/shop/jhosnet |
