left: Spirit Shield Delicate and ethereal, its bones and sinews are of willow branch and bark, because there is strength in flexibility; its heart is a fragment of white calcite for openness to possibilities; its skin is milkweed paper made from the plant Asclepia, named for Asclepius, who heals the wounded.
